Maryland Legal Aid handles a variety of family law matters that involve the following:

  • Contested custody where a child is at risk of abuse or neglect.
  • Removal of a child from or a lawsuit filed against a long-term, fit and appropriate, custodian.
  • Protection from domestic violence.
  • Spousal support where a person is ineligible for government benefits.
  • A right to counsel or access to other fair and affordable resolutions of domestic issues.
