Richard L. Wasserman joined the Maryland Legal Aid Board of Directors in 2004 and has served as Treasurer of MLA since 2012. Richard is an attorney admitted to practice in Maryland in 1978 and New York in 1975. He is currently Senior Counsel with the law firm of Willcox & Savage, P.C. and previously was an associate and partner at the law firm of Venable LLP for approximately 40 years. Richard is a 1970 magna cum laude graduate of Princeton University and a 1973 graduate of Columbia Law School. Richard has been honored to be selected to be a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy. He has served as a Regent and on the Board of Directors of the College and also as a Director of its charitable foundation, the American College of Bankruptcy Foundation. Richard began his association with Maryland Legal Aid in 1971, as a summer law clerk in its Law Reform Unit, then located on Bond Street in Baltimore.
