Pro Bono Opportunities

MLA PRO BONO OPPORTUNITIES

MLA’s Pro Bono Mission: MLA’s Pro Bono Program assists low-income individuals in Maryland by connecting pro bono attorneys to financially eligible individuals in need of civil legal advice and representation.

Case Work: Pro bono attorneys are matched with individual clients, based on an attorney’s geographic location and legal area(s) of interest, to provide legal advice and/or to assist with the drafting of legal documents (e.g., wills, advance directives). All MLA pro bono attorneys have access to malpractice insurance through MLA.

Brief Advice and Counsel: Pro bono attorneys offer legal advice to low-income individuals seeking assistance with their civil legal issues. At regularly scheduled legal clinics, pro bono attorneys provide attendees with information on a wide-range of issues including those involving family law, housing, government benefits, consumer law, and criminal record expungements.

Full Representation: Pro bono attorneys are matched with individual clients who need more in-depth legal assistance, including representation in court.
