Marquita Wise-Jones has served on Maryland Legal Aid’s Board of Directors since 1996, where she consistently contributes ideas and insights on best practices for client board members. As Board Secretary and a member of several committees, including the Finance Committee, she plays an active role in the organization’s governance. She regularly participates in Maryland Legal Aid events across the state, including the annual All Staff and Board Conference. Since 2020, she has also served on the National Legal Aid and Defender Association’s Client Council, a forum that promotes client inclusion in the Association’s activities and conferences. A resident of Prince George’s County, Marquita remains a dedicated advocate in her community, working to uplift marginalized and underserved individuals.
