Kimberly Neal

Kimberly Neal is the Director of Pro Bono at Maryland Legal Aid. Kimberly began her career in private practice with Baltimore- area law firms, litigating in the Maryland, District of Columbia, and federal courts. She later served as Chief Legal Officer for a child-serving non-profit with offices in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and, immediately prior to joining the team at Maryland Legal Aid, as General Counsel for a large Maryland public school system.   Kimberly has been highly involved in Maryland’s legal community, holding numerous leadership positions within the Maryland State Bar Association and local bar associations. She also served as President of the Association of Corporate Counsel, Baltimore Chapter, and as Vice President of the Maryland Council of Local School Attorneys. Kimberly is rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest peer-reviewed distinction recognizing exceptional legal ability and ethical standards. She was also selected as the Top Leader in Law by fellow Leaders in Law in 2022, an honor bestowed by The Daily Record and Maryland State Bar Association.   Kimberly’s board service includes the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Downtown Baltimore Child Care, Inc., and Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service. She is active with Catonsville United Methodist Church, serving on its administrative council and as a Stephen Minister.   Kimberly earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Mississippi State University, where she graduated summa cum laude. But Kimberly’s favorite title is “Mom,” and you can find her many nights and weekends at a baseball field cheering for her son.
