Emerson Dorsey joined the Maryland Legal Aid Board of Directors in 2022, where he began his legal career as a Reginald Heber Smith Community Lawyer Fellow. He is currently a partner at Tydings & Rosenberg LLP where he chairs the firm’s Business, Corporate, and Tax practice. Emerson has served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Central Maryland, where he was a member of the Executive Committee and chaired the Board and Volunteer Development Committee), and the Board of Directors of Friends of the Family, Inc. (now Maryland Family Network), where he was a member of the Executive Committee and served a term as president.
