Welcome to Zenia Wilson and Josh Swanner who joined Maryland Legal Aid in June as new staff attorneys for the Community Laywering Project! This effort focuses on providing civil legal services to eligible clients in the neighborhoods in which they live through legal clinics at local library branches, places of worship, and other community institutions.
Zenia’s previous legal experience includes a clerkship with the NAACP and time spent as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer with the Fair Housing Council of Oregon. Zenia earned her B.A. in Philosophy from Morgan State and her law degree from the University of Baltimore.
Josh’s previous legal experience includes clerkships with the Baltimore City Circuit Court, working part-time for two local law firms, interning on Capitol Hill, and working as a community organizer with Baltimore’s chapter of Jews United for Justice. He earned his B.A. from the University of Maryland in Government & Politics and Jewish Studies, and his law degree from the University of Baltimore.
Josh and Zenia will both participate in upcoming Lawyer in the Library and expungement
clinics and will also represent clients at expungement hearings.
