Civil Legal Services for "One Baltimore For Jobs" Trainees

1-bmoreThe Baltimore City Mayor's Office of Employment Development announced a partnership with Maryland Legal Services Corporation (MLSC) to provide civil legal services to participants in the One Baltimore for Jobs (1B4J) training initiative. 1B4J aims to bring skills training to youth and young adults in distressed communities in Baltimore City.

Part of the initiative includes helping trainees address civil legal issues that may hinder their job searches and present barriers to employment, such as criminal record expungments, housing, and family matters. Maryland Legal Aid is among the MLSC grantees selected to provide legal services at 1B4J training sites and will hire one fullĀtime staff attorney to conduct "legal checkĀups" for approximately 300 enrollees of the 1B4J training programs.
