A Note of Thanks

Outreach Coordinator and Administrative Assistant Vicki Johnson from Maryland Legal Aid’s Baltimore City Intake Services office received a thank you note about a recent expungement event in Baltimore City. Vicki and staff from Maryland Legal Aid’s Community Lawyering Initiative were lauded for their efforts in helping to coordinate the event and expunge criminal records for more than 100 attendees. The note reads:

Dear Ms. Johnson,

I want to thank you for all of your assistance in making the Expungement & Re-Entry Fair at the Connexion Point Church a huge success.

The team of attorneys and paralegals was excellent. They worked very hard and non-stop from the time they arrived until the time they left. When I left at 3:30 pm, there were several late arrivals waiting to been seen. At that point I believe we had already served 50 clients and removed over 100 entries from their records…

The lawyers really took time with each client to explain which items could be removed, and if there were items that could not be removed they explained why. Almost every client was able to have multiple items removed, which will help them in there pursuits to improve their life and employment status.

Thank you so much for the outstanding work of you and your team. I look forward to planning another event during the summer and having you and your team be a part of the repeat and successful outcomes.

Thank you to you and your team, we appreciate all of your hard work.

Sincerely,

David McDonald
