Farmworkers Rights

The Farmworker Program represents migrant and seasonal agricultural workers who live or work in Maryland or Delaware. The Program concentrates on the employment-related legal problems of migrant and seasonal workers in the agricultural fields, packing houses, nurseries and food processing plants.

Typical employment-related problems include:

  • Unpaid wages
  • Substandard housing
  • Discrimination
  • Pesticide exposure
  • Tax problems
  • Access to public benefits
  • Inadequate access to bathrooms and drinking water

The Farmworker Program conducts outreach to each of the approximately one hundred labor camps located in Maryland and Delaware.
