As an extention of our Equal Justice Council, the Young Lawyers Division of Maryland Legal Aid is made up of new lawyers whose mission is to enhance Legal Aid's ability to serve low-income clients seeking civil legal assistance. We seek to expand the role of private sector attorneys in public interest law, increase the commitment of young lawyers to pro bono activities, and educate others about the challenges facing Maryland Legal Aid and the goals we are working toward.
Each year, the Young Lawyers Division of Maryland Legal Aid organizes the annual Caribbean Cocktail at Little Havana Restaurant y Cantina. The event is attended by judges, attorneys, and other legal professionals. The Caribbean Cocktail is a friendraiser as well as a fundraiser, helping gain awareness for Legal Aid's programs.
Please contact Erin Hairston to learn more about joining the Young Lawyers Division or to be added to our event mailing list.
