Equal Justice Council

Andrew Jay Graham

A message from Andrew Jay Graham, 2007 chair of the Equal Justice Council:

The Equal Justice Council was formed to promote equal justice by increasing and diversifying the Legal Aid Bureau's resources, serving as its advocates and ambassadors, and educating the public about Legal Aid's programs.

Members of the Equal Justice Council help secure contributions from law firms, corporations, foundations and individuals. It is an honor to have the commitment of leading firms and individuals throughout the State of Maryland to help Legal Aid raise the resources it needs to continue to work.

We hope additional members of the Maryland Bar will volunteer to join the Equal Justice Council. If you're interested or need more information, call Susan Shubin at (410) 951-7706.

Your contributions will help Legal Aid provide more efficient and effective services by 1) enhancing training for Legal Aid attorneys and legal assistants; 2) reducing the turnover of lawyers and retaining the very best; and 3) providing the technology to manage increased case-loads.

We also invite you to become a Partner for Justice by making a contribution of $1,000 or more. In addition to recognition, you will be invited to special partner events.

Together we can improve the quality of life and increase the self-sufficiency of people in our communities who are most in need.
